Corp's (TSE:K) (NYSE:KGC) CFO and executive vice president, Paul H. Barry, will depart to pursue other interests.
The gold producer said earlier this morning that it is conducting a full search for a suitable replacement for Barry, who will remain in his role until a new CFO is appointed.
Barry will also helo transition the new CFO.
"Paul has led our efforts in raising substantial debt capital, including his oversight of the inaugural $1 billion U.S. bond issuance last year and the recent US$1.5 billion revolving credit facility and US$1 billion term loan," said CEO J. Paul Rollinson, who was appointed in August.
"Paul will be leaving Kinross with a strong balance sheet and liquidity position, as well as an excellent Finance team and robust internal processes, which helped contribute to Kinross receiving investment grade ratings on its debt from all three major ratings agencies."
Kinross is a Canadian gold mining company with projects in Brazil, Canada, Chile, Ecuador, Ghana, Mauritania, Russia and the United States, employing around 8,000 people globally.
In the summer, the company announced it appointed Rollinson to the role of CEO, replacing Tye W. Burt.
Rollinson was formerly the company’s executive VP of corporate development.
The move was focused on the company's optimization process announced in January, with the objective of improving capital efficiency and investment returns while optimizing major projects at Tasiast, Lobo Marte and Fruta Del Norte.
The appointment of Rollinson came as good news to investors who had long voiced their displeasure over former CEO Burt’s performance, some making very public calls for his ousting in a website created by “anonymous” shareholders.
Kinross faces growing costs at its development projects, including the giant Tasiast mine in Mauritania. Burt acquired Tasiast in a US$7.1-billion takeover of Red Back Mining Inc., and many investors believe he paid far too much. Reported by Proactive Investors 3 days ago.

Investigation continues in Casselberry fatal salon shooting
The ex-girlfriend who was the target of the man who burst into a Casselberry hair salon and shot four women is still recovering on Friday as investigators search for more clues to what led to the shooting.
Marcia Santiago, 44 is in serious condition at Orlando Regional Medical Center from the shooting, which resulted in the death of three other women in the salon--Gladys Cabrera, 52 ,a customer at the salon, Noelia Gonzalez-Brito, 28, an employee and salon owner Eugenia "Mari" Marte.
Investigators said 36-year-old Bradford Baumet walked into the Dominicana Hair Salon at the Casselton Corner plaza off State Road 436 and shot the four women with a stolen gun. Baumet was targeting Santiago, who filed a domestic injunction against him earlier this month. Baumet was expected to appear in court on Thursday and his family told Local 6 he was having mental problems.
"He's been having problems he's mentally unstable," said one of Baumet's cousins. "We've been telling her 'keep away from him. Keep away from him.'"
Baumet shot and killed himself inside a home in the 1300 block of Paradise Lane near Dike Road where his friends lived. Police said Baumet came in very agitated, anxious and upset "about a problem he couldn't fix" and didn't tell the people about the shooting.
Domestic violence advocates say signs were also there in another incident last month. In September, Michelet Polynice walked into a International Drive hotel, shot and killed his ex-girlfriend and her co-worker. Polynice then drove to another nearby hotel and shot his ex-girlfriend's best friend. Reported by Click Orlando 2 days ago.

on Wednesday to talk to them about improving their job interviewing skills.
Horizon High School serves students ages 14 to 21 with multiple disabilities.
Scrivo is 26 and recently completed her master’s degree. But she understands some of the challenges facing the students because she also uses a wheelchair and a breathing tube.
She offered tips to Moses Marte, 19, who said he wants to work as a carpenter, after building sets for the school's March production of "The Hunchback of Notre Dame."
"You should also interview for the theater company," Scrivo said. "You should always keep your options open. Even if you can't build a house right away, its really good to remember for your other interviews to show pictures of what you done."
The event was part of the Kessler Foundation’s “Mentoring Disability Day,” a national day to help disabled persons learn how to find work.
Scrivo told Marte that she always brings her portfolio of stories she has written to show prospective employers. Marte said he appreciated the tips.
Denise Fyffe, a research scientist in the spinal cord injury laboratory at the Kessler Foundation in West Orange, interviewed Timesha Jeffrey, an 18-year-old Horizon.
Jeffrey showed off her art patterns on t-shirts and towels that she sells at a CVS in Livingston, and she she wants to be a teacher after spending time with her nieces and nephews.
"My four-year-old niece is my angel, and I helped teach her ABC's," Jeffrey said, later singing a moving song with the lyrics, "If you love me, you complete me."
She insisted that everyone know that her classmate, Schneider Sainval receive credit for helping with all her creations.
Gwendolyn DeIorio, senior administrative assistant at Kessler, said seeing the students learn, and seeing Scrivo’s accomplishments are inspiring.
"To see someone overcome multiple disabilities and achieve what all of us are capable of - that's what its all about," DeIorio said.
Scrivo said meeting with students "is really rewarding.”
“As a person with disablities. I am happy to help future job seekers. Working here, I see the research going on, and changing lives, and also help with these employment programs.

is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of people with physical and cognitive disabilities. The foundation works very closely with the Kessler Institute and even share some space with them, however, the foundation is a non-profit and the institute is not.
The Kessler Foundation also awards grants to organizations that create or expand job opportunities for people with disabilities, Shrivo said. Disability Mentoring Day is one way to help decrease the 21 percent employment rate for people with disabilities, Scrivo said.
Students with a disability may not know what options are ahead when they try to look for work, and if employers will see their talents instead of a disability, Shrivo said. The program aims to help students have the skills and confidence needed to present to employers, and find what jobs are available, she said.
As a result of the Foundation's grant funding, more than 2,000 individuals with disabilities received job training or found employment in the past six years, and the largest grants are now awarded nationally, she said. Reported by Patch 1 day ago.

Norway court verdict on child row today
*The Indian couple facing criminal charges of "gross or repeated maltreatment" of their child will be sentenced on Tuesday even as the prosecution termed the case as "very serious" and justified their arrest ahead of the court verdict.*
"The sentencing is tomorrow (Tuesday). They are facing child abuse case and are charged with gross or repeated maltreatment of their child/children by threats, violence or other wrong, under section 219," Kurt Lir, Head of Prosecution, Oslo Police Department, said.
"There were burn marks and scars on the body of the child, who has also been beaten by the belt."
Asked why the police arrested the couple — Chandrasekhar Vallabhaneni, a software professional from Andhra Pradesh, and his wife Anupama before the sentencing, Lir said, it is feared that they will evade prosecution by returning to India. "Under three circumstances (i e) if we are concerned about (tampering) of the evidence or we fear they may leave the country or they might do it again, we make arrests before the sentencing," he said.
Anupama's lawyer Marte Brotrome said it was wrong to keep the Indian couple in prison in Norway. "If the court sentences them, we will appeal against it," she has said.
"They didn't hurt their children...They had some difficulties in handling the boy but they didn't hurt him and they didn't mean to do anything wrong. They tried to get help but they did not get any help," she said.
The police arrested Chandrasekhar, nine months after the child complained to his school teachers that his parents were threatening to send him back to India for his acts.
India's stand
India has already indicated that it will not intervene in the legal process of that country.
"This is an issue that relates not to the government. It relates to a private citizen and to the local law of that country," External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid has said.
Meanwhile, Overseas Indian Affairs Minister Vayalar Ravi on Monday said that India can diplomatically "do something" in the case. "Government can diplomatically do something," he told reporters here.
Asked to comment on External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid's statement, Ravi said: "That is a legal position but diplomatically we can try to influence the government.""We can tell him (ambassador) to try to help the family," Ravi said, adding he had tried to contact India's Ambassador to Norway but his efforts did not succeed. "I hope the Ambassador must have done something," he said.
The postponement of the verdict dampened the mood at the Vallabhaneni family, who live in Mrudula apartments at Miyapur in Hyderabad.
Sons of the Indian couple involved in the Norway case, Sai Sriram and Abhiram, are living with their grandparents at the apartments. While Chandrasekhar's nephew Shailendra was busy meeting a steady stream of visitors and media, Anupama's parents returned to their home in Dilsukhnagar.
"There is no official information neither about the case nor postponement. We believe that the verdict has been posted for Tuesday and we were told that the verdict could be mailed to the advocate engaged by my uncle," Shailendra said. Supporting his uncle and aunt, he said that the court should consider Indian family values. Reported by Deccan Herald 1 day ago.

Mayan Culture Experts Discuss the Mayan Calendar 2012 End Date at Hotel Xixim, Yucatan, Mexico

), Yucatan, Mexico, three Mayan culture experts discussed the various interpretations of the Mayan calendar end date of December 21, 2012 -- its cultural and historical significance, as well as the scientific meaning. Additionally, to celebrate the birth of a New Mayan Era, Hotel Xixim plans a Mayan ceremonial festival on December 21.
Celestun, Yucatan, Mexico (PRWEB) December 06, 2012
Much has been discussed world-wide about the Mayan calendar end date 2012, from dooms-day theories to predictions of a “New Era” of peaceful coexistence. The recent symposium, “Mayan Cosmic Gathering” at Hotel Xixim (http://www.hotelxixim.comImage may be NSFW.

) on November 16-18, featured three renowned Mayanologist experts who delivered precise information on the Seven Mayan Prophesies found on stone markers with what appears to be the Mayan calendar end date. Using documented anthropological and archaeological knowledge, these experts separated the science from myth.
Although some of the prophecies can be interpreted differently, the three Mayan experts completely agreed that the Mayan calendar end date does not predict the destruction of the planet and the end of the world. Archeologist Tomas Gallareta, noted that the evidence of the end of the Mayan calendar after 13 b’ak’tuns (5,125 years, 133 days) is found on a stone monument split in half at El Tortuguero, a Classic period Mayan site in the southern Mexican state of Tabasco. Dr. Arcadio Poveda Ricalde, astronomer, explained the significance to the Maya of the sun, moon, Venus, Mars and the rising and setting of the constellations Pleiades and Orion. Professor Marte Trejo outlined how Mayan astronomical calculations dictated seasonal cycles for planting. He also stated there are no records that the Mayans predicted an end of the world. The calendar end date simply signifies the end of the 13th b’ak’tun (about 394 years) and the beginning of a new era -- the 14th b’ak’tun.
A recent discovery at Xultun, a Mayan archaeological site in northern Guatemala near its border with southern Mexico, gives further evidence of the beginning of a “New Era”, and not the world’s end. At Xultun, recently discovered Mayan mathematical and astronomical calculations, based on the Mayan calendar, project some 7,000 years into the future from 813 A.D.
Celebration of the New Mayan Era at Hotel Xixim on December 21
To mark the New Mayan Era with the beginning of the 14th b’ak’tun, Hotel Xixim plans a special celebration on December 21. Guests will enjoy Mayan rituals, specially prepared Mayan food, and a dramatic show featuring the “Maya Awakening in a New Era”. Traditional Mayan food such as cochinita pibil (pork loin seasoned with annatto seed, wrapped in banana leaves, and baked underground) and other pre-Hispanic menu items will delight guests. Mayan dancers and a Mayan shamanic blessing around a beach bonfire will highlight the event. Reservations can be made through the hotel’s website.
