The ex-girlfriend who was the target of the man who burst into a Casselberry hair salon and shot four women is still recovering on Friday as investigators search for more clues to what led to the shooting.

Marcia Santiago, 44 is in serious condition at Orlando Regional Medical Center from the shooting, which resulted in the death of three other women in the salon--Gladys Cabrera, 52 ,a customer at the salon, Noelia Gonzalez-Brito, 28, an employee and salon owner Eugenia "Mari" Marte.

Investigators said 36-year-old Bradford Baumet walked into the Dominicana Hair Salon at the Casselton Corner plaza off State Road 436 and shot the four women with a stolen gun. Baumet was targeting Santiago, who filed a domestic injunction against him earlier this month. Baumet was expected to appear in court on Thursday and his family told Local 6 he was having mental problems.

"He's been having problems he's mentally unstable," said one of Baumet's cousins. "We've been telling her 'keep away from him. Keep away from him.'"

Baumet shot and killed himself inside a home in the 1300 block of Paradise Lane near Dike Road where his friends lived. Police said Baumet came in very agitated, anxious and upset "about a problem he couldn't fix" and didn't tell the people about the shooting.

Domestic violence advocates say signs were also there in another incident last month. In September, Michelet Polynice walked into a International Drive hotel, shot and killed his ex-girlfriend and her co-worker. Polynice then drove to another nearby hotel and shot his ex-girlfriend's best friend. Reported by Click Orlando 2 days ago.
